Queen Of The Peak Women’s Surf Championship In Tofino
Just because summer’s over doesn’t mean that the surf season is too. Surfing is a year-round endeavour on Vancouver Island’s west coast and with the wet weather comes the annual Queen of the Peak surf championship in Tofino. Canada’s only all-female surf competition is back for its third year this weekend, October 13th and 14th.

Women of all ages and skill levels will be invading the beach at either Chesterman Beach or Cox Bay (dependent on wave conditions) to support Keep A Breast Canada – a youth-focused, non-profit organization at the forefront of breast cancer education and prevention.
- Shortboard and longboard competitions with awesome prizes
- “Princess of the Peak” competition for contestants 16 and under
- “Masters” competition for women 40+
- Complimentary massage, child care and dog sitting services for all competitors
The weekend is jam-packed with lively events including a check-in cheese and wine gala Friday night at Shelter Restaurant, the Billabong premieres of “YES. It’s a Movie Too” and “Daze at Sea”, wrapping up with an awards ceremony Sunday night (also at Shelter Restaurant).
Queen of the Peak is a presentation of Billabong and the Wickaninnish Inn with generous support from both local and regional surf-related companies. All proceeds from the weekend will be donated to Keep A Breast Canada, so make it a point to check out this fantastic event should your weekend plans include a visit to Tofino.
