Chefs Across The Water At Salt Spring Island’s Hastings House
Sprawled over lush green acreage on stunning Salt Spring Island waterfront, Hastings House Country House Hotel is one of the southern gulf islands’ most unique properties. Built more than seven decades ago, this 11th century Sussex-style home features guest rooms, spa facilities and endless gardens to lose one’s self in. With a neighbouring abundance of wine makers, farmers and food artisans, Hastings House is also becoming well known for its sumptuous dining options featuring locally-minded fare.

Hastings House is proud to once again present its Chefs Across the Water dining series, designed to bring exquisite culinary skills to this hidden island paradise. Some of BC’s most well-known and loved chefs have been invited to Hastings House to create a one-time dining menu that makes use of Salt Spring Island’s very best produce, seafood and local meats. BC wine pairings are also offered to compliment each course.

The first Chefs Across the Water event this year was held in June, but if you missed that date there are still two opportunities to partake in this popular event.
- Monday, 17 September 2012 features Chef Lee Parsons of Vancouver’s Wedgewood Hotel
- Tuesday, 16 October 2012 features Chef Terry Pichor of Sonora Resort on Sonora Island
Food lovers will certainly want to make their way to Salt Spring Island for Chefs Across the Water, and seatings for this event book quickly, so it’s recommended that interested diners contact Hastings House at their earliest opportunity. Tickets for each evening are priced at $100 per person with wine pairings priced at $40 per person.
