Spectacular Summer In The Sky
Visiting Mount Washington Alpine Resort in the summertime is as exciting as it is in the wintertime. A mile-high chairlift ride to the peak of it all promises expansive views across the Island’s mountains and the Georgia Strait.
However, if sightseeing isn’t what you’re after, the mountain offers plenty of other family-friendly – as well as adrenaline inspired – activities for everyone. Here are a few dates to mark on your calendar:
Suds and Scotch
Friday, July 13th – 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Returning for another year, Suds and Scotch is the summer’s premiere beer and scotch tasting event featuring offerings from Tofino Brewing Company, Vancouver Island Brewery, Whyte & McKay Scotch and many others. This year’s much-anticipated event features the wild musical stylings of former Delhi 2 Dublin violinist Kytami!
Tickets are priced at $25 plus tax, which includes five tasting tickets, a souvenir glass, and the chance to win great prizes. Additional tasting tickets can be purchased for $1 each during the event. A free shuttle bus is available to ensure everyone’s safety. [more info]
Alpine Inukshuk Building Contest

Meaning “in the likeness of a human” in the Inuit language, Inukshuks have become a widely-recognized symbol of British Columbia in recent years. Build an Inukshuk at the top of the mountain and you could win a trip for two to Middle Beach Lodge in Tofino! [more info]

Those interested in a more relaxed visit can enjoy making a day of it as the mountain is open daily until September 3rd. And don’t forget that the legendary mountain bike park officially opens on July 28th!
