Celebrating Victoria Pride 2012
Peace, love and a rainbow of colours are getting set to take over Victoria next week as the capital city celebrates Pride Week. The city was recently voted as a favourite Canadian destination by gay and lesbian travelers, and will welcome the loud and proud with a week-long, family-friendly celebration.

Victoria Pride 2012 is presented by the Victoria Pride Society and aims to empower those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, two-spirited, intersex, friends and allies alike. Festivities kick off on July 1st, Canada Day, and run through until the closing day parade on July 8th.
Some of the week’s festivities include:

July 1 – Annual FUCV Church Service; Drag Ball Game
July 2 – Open Mic Night
July 5 – Victoria’s Q Awards; The Pride Comedy Show (“Two For One”)
July 6 – Inner Harbour Boat Cruise
July 7 – Big Gay Dog Walk; Pride and the Word
July 8 – Pride Parade; Pride Festival; Pride Week Wrap-Up Party
