Giveaway: Win Tickets To Taste BC 2011

UPDATE: Congratulations to Megan Harris on winning a pair of tickets to Taste BC 2011! Thanks again to all who entered.

Each January, Liberty Wine Merchants rounds up some of the very best in BC wine and food – all for a good cause and all in one place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Vancouver. Taste BC provides guests with the opportunity to sample incredible reds, whites, fruit wines, craft beers and so much more while nibbling on tantalizing cuisine.

Dedicated to providing care for children living with HIV and AIDS, the Children’s Hospital-Oak Tree Clinic will benefit from all funds raised this evening. Apart from the wine and food, the evening is jam-packed with live music, door prizes and a silent auction with fabulous items to bid on.

This year Taste BC is being held on Tuesday, January 18 from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Liberty Wine Merchants have provided a pair of tickets (valued at $49.99 each) to one lucky winner. You’ve got two ways to enter for two chances to win:

  1. Happy New Year!

My favourite BC wine is anything by Blasted Church…admittedly because of the cute label pictures.

  2. You said Wine, my weak spot.

Does it count that my favorite BC wine is the stuff my Dad & Chad makes in the basement? It’s really good and is technically from BC. I can provide samples upon request.

I could really go for a glass right now…

  3. A friend of mine has a relative that was a higher-up at Jackson-Triggs. Despite being Irish, apparently he knew a thing or two about wine.

I’ll say Jackson-Triggs because it always gives me a chance to insult Ireland.

  4. My favourite wine is Cold Snap from the Fort Wine Company in Fort Langley. If you haven’t been to their winery, it is a must see!

  5. My favourite BC wine? How do I pick just one?! I love Joie Farm’s Nobleblend. Amazing.

  6. My favourite BC wine is Tinhorn Creek Oldfield Series Merlot – sells for under $25 but tastes like a wine over $40. Amazing!

  7. It’s hard to pick just one, but I love everything Stag’s Hollow or Blue Mountain puts out. My favourite? Probably Grey Monk’s Pinot Gris. The gorgeous rosy-gold colour of that wine is as fantastic as its taste.

  8. Not entering the contest….just love all the names on the labels!

  9. Anything from Summerhill Pyramid Winery, however the Riesling is my favourite!

If you are ever in Kelowna, you should try their winery tour – and dinner on their patio on a sulty summer night is an experience not to be missed!!

  10. My favourite BC wine is Twisted Tree Tempranillo 2008

  11. See Ya Later Ranch – 2009 Nelly!
    or
    Tantalus Riesling

  12. Road 13’s Sparkling Chenin Blanc always gets me excited!

  13. I’m a big fan of the Blasted Church wines.

Great contest, would love to go!

  14. Favourite BC Wine : Gray Monk’s Pinot Gris!

  15. Nichol wines ~all of them!!! also Burrowing Owl Chardonay

  16. Fave BC wine…oh it is so hard to pick one! Going to have to go with Grey Monk Pinot Gris…old and always favourite :) pick me pick me!

  17. I’m not a big wine drinker but had Naked Grapes the other day for NYE celebration and it was pretty good.

    Pick me pick me! :)

  18. I’ve always enjoyed Jackson Triggs, however I recently tried Burrowing Owl, and it’s quite smooth! Delicious! Great job BC.

  19. Have to echo the others that have said it – Gray Monk’s Pinot Gris.

  20. I went to Sanduz wines in Richmond (where I’m from) and found they have great wines! My favourite one from them is their Pinot Noir :)
    Have also retweeted (@KatherineKW)

  21. Can’t name just one! I have a few that I love:

Blue Mountain striped label pinot noir
Wild Goose Stoney Slope or God’s Mountain riesling
    La Stella Lastellina rosé
    Road 13 rosé
    Laughing Stock Portfolio
    CedarCreek malbec
Mission Hill Five Vineyards rosé, SLC Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Compendium

  22. Lang vineyards late harvest Riesling plus any of their ice wines, and any if wild goose’ gewurtztraminer or rieslings, niceness!

  23. Fave BC wines include Joie Noble Blend, Grey Monk Ehrenfelser, anything by Road 13, Stoneboat or 8th Generation and Perseus Invictus! Too many, I know!
