It’ll be my first year in 4 that I don’t make it into NYC for Easter. Don’t spend a lot of money on a hotel as you’ll hardly be spending any time in there anyways. The Hotel Penn in midtown is older and dated but super cheap and really central. As for the Hudson recommendation above… that’s where Matt stayed 2 years ago – I’m sure you can remember how thrilled he was with his 137 sq.ft. accommodations, sitting in that bathroom was worse than trying to close the door on his toilet in his old studio…

If you’re wanting to do night shots… You may want to look into a light portable small tripod – all depends on how hardcore you want to get.

I’m sure you girls will have a blast – you won’t even need coffee to keep you going on little sleep as there’s something in the air in NY that just makes you feel alive…

Having just moved here (NYC) 2′ish weeks ago, I can tell you – it’s everything I had hoped. You’ll have a great time. You also have to go to a concert or two while you’re here, the music scene is to die for.

Two things to help with your trip:

1) http://www.citypass.com will save you some $$$ on seeing the sites, and it also gets you past most of the lineups.

2) Buy a one or two week metro pass for getting around:
