If I had a dollar for every time over the last six months that Becky asked me “can we go snowboarding now?” then, well, I’d have about five dollars. My point is that she is just as excited as I am for the upcoming snowboard season. Mt. Washington Alpine Resort on Vancouver Island is set to kick off the 2008/2009 ride on December 5, 2008 – just a sprinkle of days after yours truly’s birthday.
Becky and I will, without a doubt, be on the slopes for opening day, boards waxed and ready to go. Keep your eyes locked on my blog over the next 7 weeks as I’ll be posting updates on the snowfall and getting you excited with snowcam shots!
And a little link love to kick off the first really rainy weekend of Fall…
The PNE has seen the return of Fright Nights at Playland, on now until November 1, 2008. Believe it or not, I’ve never been, so I’m quite determined to check it out this year. Fright Nights is not recommended for those under 12, over 65 or those “with sensitivity to strobe lighting, people with high blood pressure, pregnant women or scaredy cats.“
Jenny’s been posting a lot of fashion shots that are most certainly drool-worthy as of late, so stop by if you’re into that sort of thing. You know, like I am.
Spotted the new Vancouver Canucks advertisements on buses, SkyTrains and the like lately? The Crazy Canucks are adorning TransLink vehicles and giving away swag to boot.
Every girl needs a little pampering, including Becky and me. We’re heading to Zazou at some point this weekend for facials and a “couples massage.” Hot, right? There’ll be photos too, so check in with me after the weekend.
The rainy days are officially here (yay!) and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be spending your weekends watching movies, bundled up with pajamas, a warm duvet and tea. I’ve seen a lot of great movies lately, so if you need something new to feast your eyes upon, here are my suggestions: Mongol, Taxi to the Dark Side, Sex and the City: The Movie (yes, again), War, Inc. (which produced a newly found appreciation for…Hilary Duff) and Run Fatboy Run (yes, also again).
It’s Clinique Bonus Days at Holt Renfrew, so make like Amy and I and head down for some lovely goodies in pretty bags (with your purchase of $35.00 or more).
Are you following me on Twitter yet? Why not?
P.S. A girlfriend of mine is trying to get her mitts on a vintage stove from the 40s or 50s, so if you know of one for sale, leave a comment or pop me an e-mail.
I’m so excited for the upcoming winter season! board is already waxed and ready! have my 6 days loaded onto my EDGE pass for Whistler/Blackcomb, have my season pass for Cypress and planning a trip to Mt.Washington as well!
There was a deal for Mt.Washington where you could get 2 day lift pass, 2 day accommodation at the mountain, ferry reservation and ferry paid for, for ~$230 per person. The catch is though a min of 4 people
We also might look at hitting Grouse (have friends that work there), Seymour because it was the mountain that made me dislike Skiing, and perhaps some of the other mountains like Hemlock, Big White etc

Oh my god.
Marry me.
No seriously, marry me.
Clinique bonus! Whoop Whoop!
Mt Washington! Whoop Whoop!
Movies, comfy pants, duvets! Whoop Whoop!
Fright Nights! Whoop Whoop!
So pumped for snowboarding!! (I’m getting you up to Whistler at some point this year!)
Equally pumped for rainy weekends inside with movies and all things cozy.
I’m totally going to get the Clinique bonus this weekend- thanks for the heads up!
Hilary Duff, you say? Hmm…interesting…
Sigh. I wish I could get into skiing again…I’m actually a bit scared to start again. I haven’t been out in something like 7 years. I’m not even sure where to start skiing again.
And hmm, I’ve been wanting to try out Clinique skin care for a while now…
