I am tired. In fact, I am so tired that I am near ready to cry from the struggle of keeping my eyes open this morning. The chorus from Riley Armstrong’s “Sleep” keeps looping through my head. On my desk sits a very strong Americano being used as a chaser for the ginger molasses cookie I just ate. Perhaps I was hoping that the copious sugary coating would give me a boost or a rush.
I’d like to chalk it up to late nights of South Park and a dinner party yesterday evening that lasted until after midnight. The truth of it, though, is that my body is just getting older. Jack once told me that once one thing goes wrong, it’s all downhill from there. My eyes started to fail me two summers ago and since then, apparently he’s been right.
Perhaps wishing so defeats my desire to live in the moment, but there isn’t a lot I wouldn’t give to fast forward through the next six and a half hours and crawl into bed.
(For those of you that actually clicked on the Riley Armstrong link, I apologize for sending you to quite possibly one of the corniest videos of all time.)

I had the worst sleep last night and feel exactly like you. I need a fast forward button.
Nap time for sure after work! I may just have one on the lounger in the backyard with Charley.
I’m really tired today too. Late night (which was only midnight, but that’s late for this girlie) followed by an early wake-up from the kitty = me wanting to crash now.
and remember, the only downhill you have to do is on your board.
When South Park is involved, how bad can a late night be? I came home from an early shift and slept for 7 hours, now I can’t sleep and I gotta be up a 5am
brutal.
Here’s hoping you get a good night’s sleep tonight… xo
I have had such restless sleep over the past 8 months, I don’t know how I push through my days… it is quite rough getting older and we are still so young it’s sickening to think of how much farther down the hill it can go!!
Hope you get some good sleep!
