I was in desperate need of some childhoodness (yes, I just made up that word) yesterday afternoon, so I cracked open my big box of DVDs and pulled out Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. It was back in 1989 that I first fell in lust with Keanu Reeves and I still lust after him today (we’ll pretend the Matrix never happened). It’s true that I’d pick all 42 years of him over Colin Farrell, Lukas Haas or even Leonardo DiCaprio. I’d hit it so bad. Er, okay, I’m getting a little side-tracked. But truthfully, this movie always takes me back to a time when life was comfortable and carefree. Every great movie from the 80s had a memorable and climactic ending, and this one was no exception. Who will ever forget Bill and Ted’s history presentation to Mr. Ryan and their entire grade? You know you’re a true child of the 80s if you know who the Wyld Stallyns are and that their music is not only conducive to one day aligning the planets, but also that it’s excellent for dancing. Need proof? Hit me up on MSN and I’ll send you the “Wyld Stallyns” performing “In Time.” Truthfully, however, it’s someone named Robbie Rob. Doesn’t matter though - the song is gnarly.

So let’s see…I haven’t blogged in more than a week so there must be something I can post about. Susan and I went shopping in the U.S. on Saturday in her dad’s “hot rod.” We’d been looking forward to a road trip together for, literally, years and so it finally happened. The day was filled with excellent shopping scores, a speeding ticket (70 in a 60 zone…c’mon!), Auntie Anne’s pretzels, Starbucks, Foo Fighters (and other rad tunes), Wal-Mart self check-outs, FUN!, and so much more. Thankfully we had a lenient border guard both ways and got into the U.S. with no problems and got back into Canada without paying a single penny in duty. Having cleavage is a gift, I swear. Here’s some of the cheap swag I scored:

Aside from that, things are pretty much the same as always. Things at the office will hopefully pick up a little bit now that my boss is back in town. Is it weird that I actually missed having him at the office? Mr. Matt’s finished mixing the record and it sounds nothing short of amazing. We’ve just been watching lots of movies, drinking lots of wine, making lots of salad and spending fun time with the dogs. I snapped this shot of Casey on Saturday night after he finally tired of playing with his crack-ball. He’s beyond handsome and beyond amazing. I think I’ve taken up enough of your time by babbling about nothing of consequence, so I’ll bid you all adieu with the promise of writing about something substantial or meaningful next time - and soon!
